But here is a good news, now you can track the trains on google map with the help of new application RailRadar by the Center for Railway information service (CRIS). This very useful application is an outcome of the innovation from Indian Railways Center for Railway Information System and RailYatri.in.
What is RailRadar?
RailRadar is an application which tracks Indian Railways Passenger trains live and in real time. This wonderful app shows a live tracker which has an interactive map which allows watching movements of the trains in real time. Currently RailRadar can track about 6500 trains. In this fantastic application you can search and track the trains using train name or station name. Location, and status of trains shown on the map are typically 5 and more mins delayed from the real time.
How to Track Your Train on RailRadar?
If you are familiar with map and train routes then you can directly use Map Navigation features such as Zoom In Zoom Out etc. You can use mouse scroll , (+) and (-) buttons. Blue highlights indicate trains that are on time while red means it’s behind schedule.
Also there is a search option where you can search the trains or train stations. Once you search one of these, map gets zoom in and you will be able to see the train or train station.
Once you select the train it shows details such as last status and next halt, starting time, status whether train is in time or delayed etc.
